Reviewing every application cold meant slow reviews, long evenings, and inconsistent depth. As one reviewer put it: “The first application of the night got a careful read. The fifteenth got a skim.” Strong proposals risked getting buried simply because of where they landed in the pile.
The Spectrumware Solution: AI-Assisted Grant Review
Spectrumware built a custom, AI-assisted grant review system that gives every application a thorough first read — scored against the foundation’s own published criteria — and briefs reviewers before they ever sit down to decide.

How It Works
Application Intake & Import
Narratives, budgets, 501(c)(3) letters, and sponsor forms are imported into one consistent, comparable format. No re-keying, and every application is ready for review the same way.
An AI First Read
Every application gets a thorough first read from a tireless first reader. The system briefs reviewers on each one — strengths, concerns, and how it measures up against the foundation’s published criteria. An optional AI-generated score can be displayed alongside the brief.
Streamlined Reviewer Scoring
Reviewers evaluate and rate applications through a simple, focused interface that works on mobile — so the work isn’t tied to one long evening at a desk.
Automatic Ranking for Award Decisions
The system tallies scores into an overall ranking, giving the committee a clear, side-by-side view for the final award decision.
